A film is edited three times. First, the script is written. Then the shoot, bringing out what was on the page into reality. Then finally, the edit.
As an editor, I help bring out the best possible version of the story you’ve poured your heart and soul into. I bring creativity and expertise to the editing process, shaping footage into compelling narratives that make people laugh, cry, ponder and empathize. My favorite stories to tell are about people who exist in the forgotten or ignored corners of the world.
I'll never forget the feeling when I hopped on an AVID for the first time for Illini Productions and felt the thrill of cutting my first highlight video. I've had a passion for editing ever since, cutting anything and everything from sports, news, educational videos, and commercials in Houston for a decade before pursuing my dream and moving to Los Angeles to work on scripted films and television.
When I'm not working I try to understand the world with an open heart by exploring underground film, enjoying different genres of older music and studying world history.
I try to take care of my soul camping, hiking, doing yoga and playing playing chess.
